Samantha's story
Samantha had a rough start to life. She was born with two chronic club feet that required 3 separate surgeries all taking place the first three years of her life. Her first surgery was at age 2 months. Samantha spent nearly three years of her life in casts up to her hips on both legs and leg braces.
She learned to walk while wearing those casts. Samantha loves reading, writing, dancing and singing. She spends her free time playing with friends and her golden retriever Jack. Samantha hopes to one day become a doctor and work with children with birth defects. All proceeds from the Neighbor Series will be placed into a college fund for Samantha.
Samantha came up with the Neighbor story-line and worked diligently to create the perfect story. As she and her mother worked together they realized creating a children's book was not an easy task. Their greatest challenge was the artwork and formatting the book for publishing.
Our Present Neighbor is the first book of the Neighbor Series about the strange neighbors that live on our street. Our Present Neighbor moves in one snowy winter day. They have lots of 'kids', strange looking pets that eat moms Christmas flowers and make noises late into the night.
My Neighbor's a Turkey! Really! Our new neighbor's moved in next door. Their feathers are clogging up the lawn mower. Their constant chatter is keeping the baby awake!
